Jacob Roberts confirms mystery Kit Green goes down ‘evil route’ in Coronation Street

Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is a man of mystery in Coronation Street, with lots of fans wary of his motives.

Since his arrival on the cobbles, there have been several instances that have seen Kit get up to no good – the most recent being his night of passion with married Shona Platt (Julia Goulding).

However, it seems that his sometimes questionable behaviour all boils down to feeling abandoned as a child, as actor Jacob Roberts revealed.

‘I think he’s definitely got some trust issues. It’s not the fact that he was abandoned once, it’s the fact that he’s been abandoned again. When he was 21, he was so excited to see his mum, to have been let down again is a tough thing.

‘After that, I thought, if he had changed, he would have gone one way or the other. He threw himself into work, and he just felt “Right, this is how I’m going to deal with it and I’m going to do things my way.”

‘You could just destruct, if you found out that news. It could have gone one way or the other.’

Despite his fling with Shona, Jacob revealed that Kit is still keen to keep Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) onside, though he struggles to connect with her.

‘I think he’s scared of opening himself up. Obviously, he’s still flirting with Daisy and stuff. He’s opened himself up in different ways, he’s blaming things on Paul if he does get emotional or he does something wrong.

‘So he starts to go down that route, which is quite evil, I suppose, because he doesn’t want to open himself up, or he doesn’t want to tell the truth.’

When Daisy asks Kit to join her for a drink in the back room in upcoming scenes, the chemistry between them is evident.

Will Kit ever be able to be truly open with her, or is their relationship set to be built on lies?
