ITV Coronation Street Christmas trailer sees heartbreaking ultimatum, sabotage and betrayal
Coronation Street fans are in for a festive rollercoaster as the latest teaser hints at a slew of bombshell plots this Yuletide.
The upcoming episodes will see Gail Platt, portrayed by Helen Worth, make her dramatic departure from the beloved ITV soap after an epic 50-year stint. However, her exit storyline is set to be riddled with high drama.
As Gail gears up to tie the knot with Jesse Chadwick and jet off to France for a fresh start, she’s blissfully ignorant of the web of family lies that could derail her Christmas Day nuptials.
The action-packed trailer reveals potential ruin for Gail’s son David Platt and his missus Shona Platt’s union. Recently, Shona ended up having a one-night stand with copper Kit Green after grappling with David’s lies about visiting her son Clayton Hibbs behind bars.
On top of that, David’s feeling the heat from the Radcliffe brothers to cough up the cash he nicked, but it’s his hunch about Shona playing away that might just tip him over the brink. In the teaser, we see a wary David confront Shona with “are you avoiding me?”, to which she denies any dodgy behaviour, reports Lancs Live.
Later on, David clocks Shona planting a peck on ex-brother-in-law Adam Barlow’s cheek and confesses: “I think she might be having an affair.” But with David barking up the wrong tree, will he suss out the real culprit Kit?
Meanwhile, Gail’s eldest Nick Tilsley isn’t backing down on his secret fling with Toyah Battersby despite previously being engaged to her sister, Leanne. A bitter Leanne vows to get her own back for their betrayal and has cooked up a scheme to set them up for fraud.
The latest teaser shows Leanne shuffling cash into a dodgy account while telling someone: “It’s not just Toyah defrauding The Bistro, it’s Nick as well!” The big question now is whether Leanne’s plot will succeed or if she’ll end up landing herself in hot water.
Elsewhere, Gaily is totally clueless about her mum Audrey Roberts’ battle with the idea of her packing off to France for a new adventure with her bloke Jesse. In the trailer, Audrey threatens her daughter with: “If you decide to marry that man then you’ll never see me again!”

Meanwhile, Gail’s daughter, Sarah Platt, is still struggling to deal with the aftermath of her own daughter Bethany Platt’s botched cosmetic surgery, with Daniel Osbourne set to propose could things be looking up for them or is there more heartache to come?
Elsewhere, Max Turner is still determined to stand by girlfriend Lauren Bolton as she awaits her trial for the murder of villain Joel Deering, but has the youngster underestimated what he has signed up for and can he cope with the responsibility?
