AN unexpected admission in Coronation Street could throw several key residents’ lives into disarray – as a huge secret looms.
Detective Kit (Jacob Roberts) saw Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) on CCTV driving Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) stolen car.
She had been covering up for ex-fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Daisy pleaded with Kit to delete the footage – a request he complied with.
In earlier scenes, Daniel stole Debbie’s new car and crashed it – to avenge her outing Bethany (Lucy Fallon) for lying about having cancer,
Daisy ordered Daniel away as she drove off to hide any evidence.
She accidentally knocked into Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) who broke her wrist in the fall.
Shona lied to husband David (Jack P Shepherd) about how she sustained her injury.
As viewers know, she was actually covering up her shock affair – with David none the wiser.
Adam Barlow (Samuel Robertson), who is aware of her deceit, picked up Shona on her dishonesty.
He persuaded her to tell the police, who then re-evaluated the case as a hit and run.
A furious Kit, the only police officer aware of the driver’s identity, confronted Daisy.
Daisy admitted to having a “near miss” while driving Debbie’s car away, but hadn’t known it was Shona.
In a further complication, Daniel overheard a conversation about Debbie’s car being found torched.
Bethany had earlier decided to end their relationship and move out.
Daniel confronted Daisy – although they later had a moment of passion after she confessed lingering feelings for him.
Any potential reunion was soon scuppered, however, when Daisy came clean to him about Shona.
When Daniel returned home, he found Bethany wanting to give their romance another go.
Over at No.8, a confused David discovered Shona’s bloody and torn jacket from her accident.
