Coronation Street bosses tease Helen Worth’s show comeback as iconic Gail Platt
EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street bosses have hinted that legendary actress Helen Worth could return to the series starring as cobbles icon Gail Platt after deciding to leave the soap
Helen Worth has had secret talks about making a comeback as Gail Platt on Corrie.
The show legend left on Christmas Day in emotional scenes, but it’s likely that won’t be the last time she is seen on the soap. Bosses want to bring her back for guest appearances in the future.
Exec producer Iain McLeod said: “Helen and I have had a conversation where she’s said, ‘There might be times in my future where I’ll come back’.
“If there’s a big storyline going on with the Platt family, she might want to come in and play a role in that.”
Over the years she became a big part of the show and was part of some of its most iconic storylines including her marriage to serial killer Richard Hillman, played by Brian Capron.
Iain said: “Helen had been a big part of Corrie’s success. We wish her all the very best.”
