Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw is rumoured to be on the brink of a sizzling new romance on the cobbled streets.
A mainstay in the soap world, Gareth Pierce has played the iconic role since 2001, arriving as part of the infamous Grimshaw family. Since then, hes been at the heart of some major plot twists and sensational storylines.
Todd hasnt escaped controversy, dabbling in fraud and engaging in more than his fair share of love affairs over the years. His chequered love life has included entanglements with several Weatherfield residents like Sarah-Louise Platt (Tina O’Brien) and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
His most recent foray into romance saw him paired with Moses Ekundayo (Michael Fatogun) at the dawn of 2024. Moses slotted into Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) life as his PA, helping him adjust to life with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Todd’s been unlucky in love
She continued, shedding light on her plans for the beloved character’s future, with a hint of whats in store for the Grimshaw family: “He’s been single for donkey’s years, and he’s fantastic. The Grimshaws are another big clan I am eager to explore,” she promised. Meanwhile, eagle-eyed viewers think they’ve cracked the identity of Todds potential new beau.
Along with hints of Todds upcoming storyline, Kate Brooks disclosed that fresh face Carl Webster will be making his way onto the scene. It turns out, Carl is related to Weatherfield staples Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Debbie (Sue Devaney), having been a name dropped in past conversations.

He’s never set foot on the cobbles as he hails from Germany, where he was born. However, when Carl makes his entrance, fans reckon it won’t be long before he and Todd become an item.
On X, one viewer remarked: “Romance for Todd Grimshaw – confirmed by new producer Kate Brooks a few months ago. She said Todd’s guy will be a ‘new’ man on the Street (not Billy and not Sean) – will it be Carl Webster?” Another chimed in: “I think that Carl is gay too and he’ll get with Todd.” A third agreed: “Same here.” Yet another fan exclaimed: “Glad Todd is back to having storylines- it’s been a while!”
