Coronation Street favourite Glenda Shuttleworth is set to face horrifying circumstances that will leave her life in jeopardy in upcoming scenes, actress Jodie Prenger has revealed.
Glenda burst onto our screens in 2022 after a fight with her boyfriend, hoping to reconnect with brother George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley).
Since then, she has made Weatherfield her permanent home, fast becoming everyone’s favourite Rovers barmaid, as well as setting up her own stage school.
However, that could all be set to come crashing down within the next few months, as Jodie teases a dramatic storyline ahead.Speaking to Manchester Evening News at the Big Night of Musicals, she revealed how she had just found out what was coming up for her character.
‘Well, actually, in the car on the way here I was learning some very amazing stuff that will be coming out in six weeks but I don’t know what I can say,’ she teased.
It’s very dramatic and I’m quite scared to film it. There’s a very dramatic bit with Glenda and her life is in jeopardy.’

Actress Jodie previously shared her fears about her character being axed during serial killer Stephen Reid’s reign of terror, revealing that Glenda wasn’t a fan of the desperate businessman.
‘Glenda has never liked him – ever since he took that £10 note! She clocks it, doesn’t she? I think Glenda goes on a gut reaction and I don’t think she thinks he’s good news.’
Because of her feelings towards him, Jodie worried that that would make Glenda a target.
Thankfully, she survived his killing spree, but could the same be said for whatever she is set to face this year?
