Coronation Street spoilers: Murder suspect Roy branded a ‘weirdo’ as blood and condoms are found in Lauren’s flat

Coronation Street legend Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has once again made Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) suspicious of his actions as he began to clean up missing teen Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) flat.

The youngster disappeared into thin air at the end of February having told Roy that she planned on leaving Weatherfield for pastures new in the wake of losing her job at his café.

When Bobby called around to check on her, he found her precinct home deserted – the radio was playing and there was a warm bacon sandwich on the coffee table.

This sparked concern with the Corrie newbie, who had developed an affection for Lauren, and had recently learnt that she’d returned to producing nude content on subscription site O-Vidz to pay her rising electricity bills.

Earlier this week, Suki Waters (Laura Littlewood), a journalist for the Gazette, agreed to record a video appeal in the cafe to help find her.

When Bobby mentioned the circumstances in the days leading to the day she vanished, Suki turned the camera to Roy to talk about why he fired her.

Roy being Roy, he panicked and didn’t want to give too much away – which raised suspicions and caused the reporter’s eyebrow to rise.

In tonight’s (8th March), Evelyn called into the café and told him that the landlord of Lauren’s flat had found out that she’d sub-letted it to her and wasn’t happy with the state it had been left in.

Blaming Roy for her decision to move on, Evelyn handed him the keys and he headed round to clean up.

Armed with his marigolds and bottle of bleach, he stumbled across a condom wrapper shoved in between the sofa cushions and a terrifying blood stain on the carpet.

Whilst on his hands and knees scrubbing away at the floor, Bobby walked in and demanded to know what he was doing there.

Despite listening to Roy plead his rather innocent reason for being there, he charged into Underworld and began to brand him as a ‘weirdo’ and said his actions were strange.

With Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) and Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) leaping to his defence, Carla Connor (Alison King) ordered him out of the knicker factory to reconsider the accusations he was flying around.

Upcoming scenes will see Bobby speak to the police about his concerns – will Roy find himself behind bars?
