But how will pregnant Daisy leave the show for good, amid theories surrounding her departure? There’s still so much more to be revealed and details remain under wraps.

What The Mirror exclusively revealed recently was that her scenes were likely to wrap up late summer or around September time, with a character returning in spring as part of Daisy’s exit storyline. The Mirror was told Christina was back for Daisy’s exit, so it’s likely the pair could bow out together given Christina is back onscreen for a few months – first airing around spring. In what’s been teased to be a “brilliant” storyline, Daisy’s faced with her mother once more with the pair having somewhat of a fractured relationship.

Christina’s return comes as Daisy continues to hide the identity of the father of her unborn child. Fans are yet to uncover whether Daniel Osbourne or Kit Green are the father, but soon all will be revealed.

Daisy knows the results of Daniel’s DNA test and is hiding the truth from everyone, hinting she plans to raise the baby alone. So might Christina’s return tie in with her planning a fresh start away from Weatherfield with her child?

An insider told us: “Christina’s return certainly causes drama and she’s going to be ruffling some feathers throughout her time on the Cobbles. It’s a brilliant storyline for Christina and Daisy in what will be some of Charlotte’s final months on screen.

“It’ll be sad to say Daisy leave the show, but we’ve got a few months of Christina causing all kinds of chaos before then. The cast are thrilled to welcome Amy back to the show in what will no doubt be a big storyline for the pair.”

The Mirror also recently revealed a “huge conflict” will be sparked between Daisy and her stepmother Jenny Connor, as a result of Daisy’s bombshell pregnancy. Ahead of Daisy revealing whether Daniel or Kit is the father, drama unfolds that leads to Daisy and Jenny clashing.

Christina could well contribute to this too, as there’s “no love lost between the two women”. It could well be what leads to Daisy packing up and leaving later in the year, with emotional scenes on the way for the pair – with it still to be revealed what brings Christina back. Perhaps Christina drives a wedge between the pair, and Daisy leaves as a result.

Charlotte recently confirmed her exit, and revealed in a statement: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities. It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.”
