New suspects enter the frame as Coronation Street hints at who is to blame for Lauren’s disappearance – and it’s not Roy
Coronation Street has dealt a major curveball in tonight’s (13th March) episode as fingers have been pointed at several new suspects following the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
The troubled teen went missing at the end of February and since then, best mate Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) has launched an appeal to find her.
She was last seen alive by Roy Cropper (David Neilson), who had called by her flat to drop off her final wages from his café.
Lauren had been let go after Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) made an accusation that she’d stolen money from her purse, and planned on starting a new life away from Weatherfield.
Suspicions quickly turned to Roy, who had accidentally cleaned up vital evidence in her flat when helping out Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) who had been subletting it to her.
In tonight’s episode, Bobby and Max Turner (Paddy Bever) had spent the evening watching forensics teams coming and going from the precinct as they scouted for evidence.
The boys decided to begin their own investigation, and Max was quick to point the finger at Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), who had been tutoring her English.
After calling him in for questioning, DS Swain (Vicky Myers) delved into his history with sex worker Nicky Wheatley (Kimberley Hart-Simpson) and asked whether he’d ever paid Lauren for sex.
In a low blow, she then brought up the time he tutored Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) and was accused of improper conduct.
Meanwhile, Bethany wondered whether the right wing group that Lauren’s dad was a member of had targeted her.
Bethany had approached Lauren with a view to writing an article about her experiences with the extremists before she went missing.
With so many new names thrown into the hat, we’re still left wondering exactly who is responsible…
