ITV Coronation Street ‘work out’ whose blood was found – and it’s ‘not Lauren’s’

Coronation Street fans think the blood police found at Lauren Bolton's flat in a recent episode of the ITV soap may belong to someone else, and she could still be alive

Coronation Street could soon air a new Lauren Bolton twist regarding the bloodstains found at her flat

Coronation Street could soon air a new Lauren Bolton twist regarding the bloodstains found at her flat.

The character is feared dead after disappearing in February, with her not seen or heard from since. Police have claimed their investigation is now a murder inquiry, as they believe Lauren has been killed.

They discovered blood and human tissue on the curtains of her flat, as well as possible murder weapon. One character has been arrested and questioned for the murder, leaving viewers reeling.

Now, amid the gory discovery, some viewers are convinced a twist is on the way, after there was no real confirmation that the blood or tissue belonged to Lauren. It was assumed to be her’s given she was missing and it was in her flat.

Ahead of police confirming the details, viewers shared their thoughts that the blood would actually be someone else’s. They are wondering if Lauren got into a fight with someone and maybe someone else was attacked, causing her to flee.

It could be someone linked to the far-right gang she was exposing in her article with Bethany Platt. Perhaps it was the mystery boyfriend that had been hassling her and even violent towards her.

According to fans, suspects for the latter include Bobby Crawford, Joel Deering, Nathan Curtis or Rob Donovan, or maybe even Tommy Orpington. Taking to social media on the blood theory, one fan posted: “Maybe not her blood, could be she hurt someone and has gone into hiding.”

Another fan commented: “Do they actually know for sure it’s Lauren’s blood in the flat??” A third said: “How do the police know that the blood in Lauren’s flat was hers? She could’ve killed her ‘boyfriend’ in self defence and then got rid of the body,” while a fourth wrote: “I think Lauren killed her boyfriend in Self defence and moved the body hence the blood in her flat.”

On Friday, DS Swain confirmed a likely murder weapon had been located, after blood and human tissue was found on an item from the flat. Swain claimed to murder suspect Roy Cropper that given the evidence found, she had likely been hit over the head as the blood splatter and tissue found was consistent with blunt head trauma.

She also revealed that a leg from a broken chair had been found, and this was covered in blood too. Officers now believe someone attacked and killed Lauren with the chair leg, likely hitting her over the head.

While no body has been found, they are convinced they have now solved her fate. The soap has not confirmed whether Lauren is dead and what happened to her, after she vanished weeks ago.
