Coronation Street ‘work out’ newbie Rowan’s link to Lauren after ‘murder’

Coronation Street fans are convinced there is a sinister link between newcomer Rowan Cunliffe and missing teen Lauren Bolton, who is feared dead after a murder twist

Coronation Street’s newbie, Rowan Cunliffe, might share a dark connection with the missing teenager Lauren Bolton, according to fans.

Lauren is thought to be dead after police said she’s likely been killed while her suspected murderer walks free. Rowan made his first appearance around the same time when Lauren’s fate could be confirmed, which caught Leanne Battersbys attention on Friday.

Rowan, who will take centre stage in an upcoming sinister cult plot on ITV’s Coronation Street, introduced himself to Leanne and plans to feature in the soap this week. At a seminar for ‘The Institute’, Leanne and stepson Simon Barlow got acquainted with the speaker, Rowan.

However, as Rowan spilled details about ‘The Institute’ to Leanne, viewers remained sceptical. With the mystery of Laurens possible murder incident unfolding around him, fans have started to suspect that Rowan might be involved with her disappearance.

A fan shared their theory on X, saying: “Okay so the lauren storyline is leading into the cult storyline? ” Another chimed in: “I don’t trust Rowan at all.”, reports the Mirror. In relation to this, Roy Cropper was apprehended on suspicion of the crime last Friday, after the discovery of a gruesome scene at Lauren’s flat.

In Friday’s episode, DS Swain revealed the potential murder weapon had been found, along with signs of blood and human tissue on an item and the curtains. Swain told murder suspect Roy that the evidence suggests she was likely hit on the head, as the blood spatter and tissue found match with a blunt head injury. She also mentioned finding a bloody leg from a broken chair.

The police now think someone attacked and killed Lauren with the chair leg, probably hitting her on the head. Even though they haven’t found a body, they believe they’ve figured out what happened to her.
The soap hasn’t confirmed if Lauren is dead or what happened to her after she disappeared weeks ago. Rowan will be in more scenes this week, but there are questions over whether he could really be connected to Lauren’s disappearance, or if someone else is responsible. Coronation Street is shown on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
