ITV Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley’s secret ‘exposed’ as ‘unwelcome’ character returns

Coronation Street airs a return to the show for one former character next week, and it could spell trouble for Daisy Midgeley.
The character gets an “unwelcome visitor” as one character heads back to the Street four months after their last appearance. Daisy’s mother Christina Boyd returns, and she could expose Daisy’s big secret after a chat with her new partner Ryan Connor.
Ryan recently made a return to the street after months away, and he and Daisy embarked on a romance following their earlier fling. As for Christina, she and Daisy have a fractured relationship and their last meeting did not go well.
So much so, that spoilers reveal Daisy tries to send her mother packing when she heads to The Rovers to see her next week. Christina lied for her daughter back in November, to help cover her affair with Ryan from then fiancé Daniel Osbourne.
She’d gone to meet Ryan at a hotel only to change her mind, so she called her mum and begged her for an alibi. Daniel knew about the hotel visit and that Ryan was there, so Daisy claimed that she was with her mum.
Christina did as she asked, speaking to Daniel on the phone while Daisy was next to her. Daisy suggested Christina owed her after years of drama between them, so Christina did as she was told.
It did nothing to heal their relationship though, with her mother soon leaving again just before she and Daniel split for good. It seems things have not thawed either, as Daisy is not happy to see her mother – even after a lie to Ryan and others.
When Daisy and Jenny Connor recently bought the pub using the money killer Stephen Reid had stolen from Carla Connor’s factory before his death, they had to come up with a fake story about how they secured the money, initially not having any. So Daisy suggested her mother gave her the money and that’s what they used to purchase The Rovers.
But this might be rumbled next week, when Ryan lest slip to Christina about the money and the pub. When Christina arrives, Daisy tells her she is not welcome and to stay elsewhere, leaving Ryan stunned.
Ryan tells Christina it was very generous of her to give Daisy the huge sum of money, and offers her a drink as a thank you. But Christina obviously has no idea what he’s talking about and is left intrigued – so will she expose Daisy’s lies to the whole pub?
