Coronation Street’s Damon Hay to be caught lying to Sarah Barlow amid robbery plan
Damon's deception catches up with him.
Coronation Street‘s Damon Hay will be caught out for his lies next week, as he continues to deceive girlfriend Sarah Barlow over his recent deal with jailed half-brother Harvey Gaskell.
Viewers have recently seen Damon reluctantly agree to take part in a robbery for Harvey after Harvey threatened Sarah’s life, despite Damon’s previous promise to Sarah that he had turned his back on a life of crime.
Damon later demanded a share of the profits from the illegal job, before telling Sarah that they can afford to buy their dream home together – although he kept the source of his sudden cash injection a secret.
In new scenes that will air on Monday, March 25, Sarah’s son Harry’s birthday arrives. Harry thanks Damon for his gift of a new VR headset and gives him a hug.
Damon apologises again for not being able to make it to Harry’s birthday party, covering up the fact that he’ll be absent because he’ll be busy taking part in the secret robbery.
When Sarah later speaks to Ed Bailey about the job that he is doing for Damon, she realises that her partner has been lying to her.
Will Damon be able to talk his way out of the situation? And if not, could this be the end of the road for Sarah and Damon’s relationship?
Actress Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah, said during an interview in February that she is “really worried” about what the future might hold for her character’s relationship with Damon, considering his dark past.
“I do truly believe that Damon’s got her best interests at heart,” she said. “I believe he means what he says to her, but unfortunately with the life he’s led and the people that he knows, the temptations to get involved in something dodgy could be too great.”
