Coronation Street’s Colson Smith has reunited with former co-stars Ellie Leach and Lucy Fallon.
The actor announced his departure from the ITV soap earlier this year, revealing that his contract had been terminated after 14 years of gracing the cobbles.
‘Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker’s time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025,’ he wrote on Instagram at the time.
‘I’ve loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street.
‘I’ve learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I’m excited to play out the exit story for our Craigy. For me, this is the end of the beginning.
‘I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter two has in store for me.’
How will Craig Tinker leave Coronation Street?
It was later reported that his final scenes will see the character go out in a blaze of glory – ultimately resulting in his heroic death.
Police chase scenes were filmed in Salford, suggesting that Craig could die on the job.
Last month he revealed that he’d filmed his final scenes, and in doing so, posted a farewell tribute on social media.
‘CORONATION STREET I LOVE YOU, THANK YOU’ he wrote, with a snap of him sat on the canopy of the Rovers Return sign. In a huge blunder, he revealed that the world’s most famous boozer was for sale.
Now – with a lot of time on his hands – Colson has caught up with Ellie and Lucy for a pizza party.
Colson’s connections to Ellie and Lucy
Strictly champion Ellie portrayed Faye Windass between 2011 and 2023, and the pair shared a number of huge scenes together during her tenure.
Craig was on hand to guide her through her teenage pregnancy, and even helped to deliver her baby in the flat above the corner shop.
Years later, they finally admitted their feelings for one another – but her head was turned by the father of her daughter, and they moved to Slough.
As for Lucy, she’s currently on maternity leave from her Bethany Platt role, having welcomed daughter Nancy Margaret in January.
The character accepted a job in London, and left Weatherfield when her boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) cheated on her.
Craig always had affections for Bethany, but they were never reciprocated and she asserted that they were better off as friends.
There’s no love lost off-screen, as new Instagram snaps have shown the three lapping up this week’s warm weather in a garden.
Ellie shared a picture of Colson stretching some dough, captioning it ‘pizza party’, whilst Lucy added a video of them both holding peels, a device used to grab the goods from the oven.
