Daisy’s exit scenes confirmed in Coronation Street – as she ‘takes show legend with her’

We know that Charlotte Jordan is set to leave Coronation Street soon, after playing the role of Daisy Midgeley for four years.

The character has been through a terrible ordeal recently after losing the baby she was expecting. The father of the baby was police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), with whom Daisy had a short relationship although she has recently been reconciled with her former fiancé and the man she really loves, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

But it’s the sense of betrayal Daisy feels over her step-mum Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews)’s behaviour that could be the trigger for her finally leaving Weatherfield.

Jenny and Daisy had a huge row in the aftermath of Daniel’s son Bertie (Rufus Morgan-Smith) almost drowning, in which Jenny blamed Daisy for the death of her little brother Tom, who also drowned when Jenny claimed Daisy was supposed to be watching him.

In the aftermath of this, Daisy contacted her mum Christina (Amy Robbins), who has her own reasons for wanting to see Jenny humbled, and the two set up a plan to catfish Jenny.

Recently Jenny has been receiving messages and even flowers from someone called Dom and she’s quite smitten – not realising that ‘Dom’ is a fake persona made up by Christina.

In upcoming episodes the plan steps up a gear when ‘Dom’ arrives in the Rovers in the flesh. Christina tells Daisy that it’s all part of her plan.

Jenny has come into some money and she’s secretly planning to buy the Rovers from Carla (Alison King) and cut Daisy out, but Christina has discovered this plan and knows the best way to foil Jenny is to get her money.

So Dom spins Jenny a tale about a solid investment opportunity he has, and it’s clear she’s fallen for it.

She decides she wants to invest in Dom’s company, and Daisy realises that Jenny’s money will soon be in her and Christina’s hands. And there’s only one way she wants to spend it.

She tells Daniel that an aunt has left her some money, and she wants to use it to start a new life away from Coronation Street with him and Bertie.

It’s a massive decision for Daniel. His job, his family and his whole life are in Weatherfield. Is he ready to bet his entire future on Daisy and leave with her?
