Fears are rising for Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in Coronation Street as his secret love affair with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) grows more serious.
Since Todd first met scaffolder Theo, he has been on a journey of discovery – mainly being blindsided with the fact that he has a wife and kids while at work.
Todd was involved in organising the funeral for Theo’s mother-in-law, which led to some very awkward moments.
Eventually, Todd decided he couldn’t cope with Theo’s constant revelations, and decided to call it quits.
Less than 24 hours later, however, he had done a complete U-turn and confided in Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that he wanted to carry on seeing Theo.
We can’t keep up.
After asking Sarah if he could borrow her flat for a secret rendezvous with Theo, Todd invited him over.
Though Theo explained that he was a complicated man, this no longer bothered Todd, who wasted no time in kissing him.
By the time Sarah got home, Todd and Theo had very much got things back on track, and Theo had headed out to pick them up a takeaway.
Close call!
However, the reality of their situation soon hit when Todd realised that Theo had left his phone, and had received a text from wife Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson) saying she was on her way to see him.
After some persuasion, Todd managed to convince Sarah to return Theo’s phone and warn him of Danielle’s impending arrival.
As Sarah handed over the phone, she and Theo were approached by Danielle, with Theo forced to act fast to explain how they knew each other.
When Theo told her that Sarah was Todd’s girlfriend, Danielle had no reason to question it, leaving them all in the clear.
However, following the close call, Todd expressed his concerns to Sarah that Theo may never be able to leave his family to be with him and live his truth.
Sarah tried to assure him that he would get there in time, but pointed out that however things pan out, Danielle will always be left feeling as though her entire marriage had been a lie.
Will Todd and Theo get their happy ending?
