Hopes of an official relationship between Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) have been dashed after an unexpected kiss in tonight’s Coronation Street.
Sarah and Kit had been getting on fantastically, with the flirty banter coming naturally between them both.
Things were still looking optimistic at the beginning of tonight’s episode, when they agreed to go on a date to the bistro.
However, it wasn’t long before Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) relationship woes also brought trouble to Sarah and Kit’s budding romance.
Viewers will know that Todd is currently seeing Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), who just happens to be married with kids.
In a bid to cover their secret relationship, Theo told wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) that Sarah was Todd’s girlfriend.
Tonight, Todd joined Sarah for a drink in the bistro as she waited for kit to arrive, but they were soon forced to play the part of a couple themselves when Danielle arrived.
Soon, they were joined by Theo too, for the most awkward double date imaginable.
When Danielle kissed Theo, then commented on how he hated public displays of affection, Todd got his own back by snogging Sarah, leaving her taken aback.
Unfortunately, it was at exactly that moment that Kit arrived, and it took quite some explaining from Sarah to get him onside.
Finally having understood the situation, Kit agreed to meet her again later, where they hoped things would go more to plan.
It started off well, with the couple sharing their typical flirtatious banter, before Sarah pulled him in for a kiss.
Kit then got the mother of all mixed messages when she immediately pushed him away, understandably confused.
Sarah was quick to explain that Danielle and Theo had just driven past, and that they couldn’t see them together as she was supposed to be dating Todd.
Fed up with all the complications, Kit thought better of their date night and stormed off, leaving Sarah disappointed.
Will they get things back on track, or has Theo’s lie ruined their chances?
