Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd nearly died in car crash as he was left ‘hanging over a bridge’
Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has shared the details of a terrifying car crash he was involved in as he chatted to his Celebrity Big Brother housemates
Jack P Shepherd, the Celebrity Big Brother contestant and Coronation Street legend, gave his housemates the chills as he detailed a hair-raising car crash during the latest episode.
Although Jack emerged unscathed, the soap star was visibly shaken while sharing the ordeal.
Gathered around the kitchen table with his fellow celebs, Jack recounted the moment he wrecked his motor on the M62 in a bizarre twist of fate.
“I had a big car accident on M62. Yeah, just getting onto the slip road at M62, I f****** skidded, spinned, and went through a barrier, and I was hanging over a bridge for M62. The car was a f****** Italian job,” he told them.
The revelation left his ITV pals gobsmacked, prompting them to share their own nail-biting tales. Since facing the threat of eviction in Tuesday’s live show – from which Trisha Goddard was sent packing instead – Jack has been more open with his CBB mates, perhaps feeling the relief of his narrow escape.
Off-screen, Jack’s life is revving up for some major excitement. He’s rumoured to be earning £100,000 for his stint in the Big Brother house, with an insider claiming the money is a welcome boost ahead of his wedding.
Last summer, the telly favourite popped the question to his love Hanni Treweek during a dreamy getaway in Tanzania. Rumours are swirling that the lovebirds are fast-tracking their trip down the aisle, with wedding bells set to ring this July.
In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, he gushed about tying the knot: “The wedding is this year. We’re very excited. It’s all done. It’s all paid for. It should be a really good day actually. I love a wedding. Absolutely love a wedding. Weddings and funerals.”
He also let slip that he’s chucking one major tradition out the window, focusing solely on the wedding rather than a pre-marriage bash.
“I don’t like the idea of going on a stag do where someone just takes the p*** out of you all weekend and you’re the butt of every joke and you have to dress up like a f****** baby,” he shared.
“No, I’m not doing any of that. Han’s not having a hen party either. And I won’t miss it in the slightest.”
Reflecting on his career on Coronation Street, Jack shared: “I’ve just celebrated 25 years on Corrie and I don’t see myself going anywhere,” Jack declared when quizzed about dabbling in reality TV.
“I think it’s not unusual for one of these flagship shows, like Big Brother, the jungle, Dancing On Ice, to have a face from Corrie.”
