There’s a mixture of dramatic and heartbreaking scenes on Coronation Street next week according to new spoilers.

One fan favourite will be killed off in devastating scenes, leaving their loved ones in shock. There’s also trouble for a new couple on the show, while a split also seems to be on the cards.

One character has a big decision to make, while another resident faces their past being exposed as hints over their link to a villain come to light. There’s an un update about The Rovers which faces being sold, and one character sets a trap after believing they know who has been targeting them with sinister messages.

The big storyline of the week is the heartbreaking death of Julie Carp. Eileen Grimshaw will find her sister dead in devastating scenes next week, amid her cancer diagnosis.

Julie returned to the show after years away only recently, ahead of Eileen’s exit from the cobbles. She soon confirmed to her family that she was terminally ill with cancer, and only had months to live.

Sadly the time comes to say goodbye next week, as Julie passes away. Julie prepares for her goodbyes, recording videos of herself on her phone for her loved ones to see when she is gone.

Eileen clashes with partner George Shuttleworth again amid this, after he forgets about their plans to go to the lake with Julie. The sisters go alone, and while there they reflect on things as Julie admits there’s nowhere she’d rather be.

But after telling Eileen to head to the refreshment van, Julie dies and is found by Eileen lying on her back with her eyes closed. Eileen feels for a pulse but realises her sister has died.

In the fallout, Eileen is upset as she mulls over what has happened. She’s left annoyed once more though when all George can think about is Julie’s message to Eileen, where she encouraged her sister to part ways with George – but will she take her sister’s advice?

Elsewhere, there’s concern for Theo Silverton when he goes missing – while he later shows up drunk. He ends up in a fight with villain Mick Michaelis, but Mick is soon sent packing.

Theo ends up breaking down to a concerned Billy Mayhew, but there’s trouble ahead when his daughter Millie arrives demanding answers. Todd Grimshaw is left uneasy amid their on/off romance, and soon he’s left confronting teen Millie when he finds the company hearse covered in paint.

Theo defends his daughter who blames Todd for her family being torn apart – but is it over for Theo and Todd? Also next week, Dee-Dee Bailey is nervous about her growing attachment to baby daughter Laila with the plan still for James to adopt his niece.

She’s urged to reconsider giving Laila up, while Dee-Dee also plans to return to work but a moment leaves her emotional. Back to Mick, and next week he’s arrested over an assault.

When detective Kit Green is uneasy about interviewing him, it’s clear they’re hiding something. he ends up letting Mick go, and later on the villain tells him they need a chat – so what does he have on Kit?

Mick also targets Liam Connor next week while trying to get his parents on side. Jenny Connor is left considering her future next week, amid the future of The Rovers and its possible owners being up in the air.

With Carla Connor taking charge with her still not paid back by Jenny, Ryan Connor tells Jenny he no longer takes orders from her. Soon some prospective buyers are shown around the pub and someone attempts to put them off.

Ahead of his exit from the soap, next week sees a new job opportunity arise for Craig Tinker. Debbie Webster continues to struggle next week, amid her dementia diagnosis – leaving her brother Carl Webster offering advice.

Finally next week Lauren Bolton sets a trap for the person she thinks is blackmailing her over the van crash, after she continues to receive nasty messages. While no more threats come through she fears they are biding their time.

Soon she confesses to Betsy Swain that she thinks her ex Bobby Crawford is behind the messages in a bid to get closer to her. Planting some fake cash, Betsy and Lauren wait it out but will it be Bobby?
