Coronation Street’s Ben Price suffers unfortunate accident in the home
Coronation Street star Ben Price, 53, has suffered an unfortunate accident in his home, he revealed recently.
The Nick Tilsley actor co-hosts the On The Sofa podcast alongside Corrie co-stars Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith, and was quick to tell them the story of the incident.
He explained how, while cleaning his cooker ahead of a scheduled repair, he had found a dead mouse, and decided to check the loft for any more rodents.
However, on his way out, he tripped and put his leg, which was already ‘dead’ from a jiu-jitsu injury, through the ceiling.
‘I put my foot straight through. I’ve fallen through the ceiling, but my leg’s dead, so I can’t pick it back up!’ He recalled.
He went on to reveal how the misstep had resulted in complete carnage in the bathroom below, with the whole ceiling having collapsed.
‘I think to myself, “I’ve only put my little foot through”, so it’s just a foot mark in the ceiling. I’m thinking nothing of it. I look through the [gap], and there was not one bit, the shower, the loo, the tiles, the floor, that wasn’t covered.
‘It was utterly covered. The whole part of the ceiling had fallen down.’
When his wife then revealed that she was going to have a shower, Ben was forced to reveal what had happened, and was even more disheartened when she saw this as an opportunity for a whole new bathroom!
On the cobbles, Ben’s alter-ego Nick has had a dramatic year, after embarking on an affair with long-time partner Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor).
Their romance began after Leanne was drawn into a cult, and once their relationship was exposed, they chose to stay together, leaving Leanne vengeful and heartbroken.
More recently, Ben has shown support for co-star Jack P Shepherd during his stint in Celebrity Big Brother, which he went on to win.
