Coronation Street Paul Foreman’s return ‘sealed’ in huge twist after devastating death
AI has shared its take on the future of Coronation Street's Paul Foreman and although his death draws closer, the fan-favourite could return to the famous cobbles as a spirit
AI has said that it’s “always possible” that Paul Foreman could return to Coronation Street as a ghost.
Paul has been suffering from motor neurone disease for over a year and although he has tried to make the best of his situation, his health is gradually getting worse. Paul, who is played by actor Peter Ash, also learned from medical professionals that he only has a handful of months left to live.
But with things unfortunately becoming dire for Paul, AI has shared whether the fan favourite could make an epic return as a spirit. Although it’s something that’s not really been done before, AI believes it could be likely.
It said: “While a ghostly return wouldn’t be the usual on Coronation Street, it’s always possible for a dramatic twist in soaps! However, there isn’t any indication that this is the direction the writers are taking.
“In fact, there was recent news in January 2024 that actor Peter Ash, who plays Paul, hinted his character’s story isn’t quite over [ Coronation Street star Peter Ash issues update on Paul Foreman exit as he returns to work]. This suggests a more conventional return from Paul, possibly after a recovery period from his illness,” the technological software explained.
It added: “Of course, storylines can change and anything is possible in the world of soap operas. So, while a ghostly return seems unlikely at the moment, you never know what the future holds on the cobbles!”
According to Coronation Street spoilers, there will be more bad news in store for Paul. Paul’s therapist will reveal to Paul and his mum Bernie that his speech and ability to eat solid food has deteriorated.
The therapist then suggests that it might be time for him to use a feeding tube to help him digest food. Following the disappointing news, Paul and Bernie return home and break the news that he can no longer eat solid food for fear that he could possibly choke on solids.
However, Paul assures his husband Billy and Summer if they liquidise his food, he will be fine to digest it this way. Later on, Billy, Summer, Bernie and Todd Grimshaw tuck into their delicious roast dinner, while Paul sets about his bowl of puréed food.
