Coronation Street Damon’s exit confirmed as emotional Sarah receives devastating news

Damon Hay was recently arrested for armed robbery and Coronation Street spoilers reveal that his girlfriend Sarah Barlow learns he's been sentenced to six years behind bars next week

Coronation Street have confirmed Damon Hay’s exit storyline.

It was reported over the weekend that actor Ciaran Griffiths was leaving the Weatherfield after two years and had already filmed his final scenes as the bad boy.

Next week, his girlfriend Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) confides in ex Gary Windass (Mikey North) on the day of Damon’s sentencing and in turn, Gary tells her about Liam Connor’s (Charlie Wrenshall) suicidal thoughts.

Having invited her back to the flat, Gary tells Sarah about Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) overprotective behaviour and how i’’s ruining their relationship. Unbeknownist to the pair, Maria is watching her camera app which she set up to keep an eye on her son and is intrigued to see Sarah and Gary in the flat.

As Maria turns up the volume and hears their conversation, she’s left feeling hurt. Sarah takes a call from Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown ) telling her that Damon got six years and as she starts to cry, Gary takes her in his arms. Will the pair end up back together?

The Sun reported on Saturday (March 28) that Damon actor Ciaran has said goodbye to to the cobbles after his time on the show came to an “natural end”. A source told the publication: “Ciaran’s loved his time on the show but Damon’s story came to a natural end for now. The door has been left open but for now it’s time to say goodbye to him.”

In recent scenes, Damon was arrested for armed robbery after being blackmailed into it by his jailbird brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor). He had the option to turn on Harvey and be freed to live his life withSarah but he knew they would never be safe. So he decided to plead guilty and accept years in prison with Harvey instead.

The brothers had a brutal fight and then reunited with plans to relaunch their criminal empire from behind bars. During Friday’s (March 29) episode, Damon called Sarah to prison to break up with her. As Sarah told him how she planned to wait for him and that they could have a future together, Damon dropped bombshell on his lover.

He said: “I don’t want you to do that because I asked you here to tell you to your face, we’re finished. I’m doing you a massive favour. You turned my world upside down but if I loved you, properly loved you, I wouldn’t have done the stuff I’ve done. “You’ve got to walk away. I’m sorry, it’s my decision. Goodbye Sarah.” With that he got up and walked away from her leaving her devastated.
