A Coronation Street villain is reportedly returning to the cobbles.
Amy Robbins, famed for playing Daisy Midgeley’s long-lost mum Christina Boyd on the soap, is said to be making an explosive return after her sudden exit. The 54-year-old star – who is aunt to Emily Atack – made her Corrie debut in early 2023 and has played the nightmare mother on-and-off.
Christina left earlier this year as part of Daisy’s exit storyline. Charlotte Jordan, who played Daisy, has left the soap to “explore other opportunities.” Daisy might have left, but it’s believed Christina is coming back to cause “chaos” and fans can expect to see her in August.
A source told The Sun that Amy is filming new scenes, explaining: “Christina will be back to her usual tricks causing chaos on the cobbles. There’s going to be some incredible scenes with her and Jenny clashing.

“And this time she’s back for a long stint. She returned to filming recently and she’ll be back on screen later this summer. It’s definitely going to be explosive.”
When Charlotte left Corrie, she said: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.”

Amy returned as Christina earlier this year and patched things up with her daughter despite a turbulent relationship. Daisy decided to reach out to her “hot mess” mother for help.
For the first time, the pair worked together and unfortunately, Daisy’s step mum Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) got the brunt of it. Speaking of her previous return, Amy said to the Mirror: “For the first time you see the two women work together.
“When push comes to shove, she’s relying on her flesh and blood to help her out of it. Christina runs to her rescue to finally get revenge on Jenny, which is what she’s always wanted to do.” At the time, she also claimed a return for Christina was “highly unlikely” after Daisy’s departure.
But Daisy got one over on Christina as she took Jenny’s money for herself, leaving Christina penniless. It’s believed Christina will come “face to face” with Jenny when she returns to the soap.
Aside from Corrie, Amy has racked up a ton of TV credits. She’s had roles in series such as Where the Heart Is, Heartbeat, Hollyoaks, EastEnders, Holby City, Doctors, and Emmerdale.
The actress is also known for playing Police Sergeant Rachel James in Casualty and Dr Jill Weatherill in The Royal, which she played from 2003 to 2011.
