Corrie’s next Rovers owner exposed as Carla set to ‘give pub’ to unexpected favourite

EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street fans were stunned when Carla Connor took over the Rovers Return from Jenny and Daisy – but now it’s possible she could hand management over to someone else

Coronation Street’s Carla Connor stunned viewers when she became the new owner of the Rovers Return, exposing Jenny and Daisy’s fraud and determined to get her money back.

Now it’s been predicted that Carla – who confessed she has no desire to run a boozer – will hand the reins over to a familiar, but very unexpected, face on the cobbles as she struggles to keep Underworld afloat. Daily Star consulted Google’s artificial intelligence tool Gemini to figure out who could be the next owner, just days after Carla reluctantly took the keys from Jenny.

And it’s Roy Cropper who is the most likely candidate to manage the pub while Carla is busy at the factory. Roy has been forced to hide away from Roy’s Rolls after the trolling from people sure he murdered Lauren Bolton, so heading over to the pub could take some of the heat off him.

Gemini also suggested Roy’s business expertise makes him the perfect candidate, revealing: “Roy’s loyalty to the pub and his business acumen make him a potential candidate, especially if Carla needs a reliable manager or decides to sell.”

It also suggested Jenny could take the pub over again, explaining: “Although currently on shaky ground with Carla, Jenny has a long history with the Rovers and might make a play for ownership again, possibly through a reconciliation or buyout.”

Other potential candidates include Nick Tilsley, with Gemini answering: “Nick has a history of running businesses and might see the Rovers as an investment opportunity, potentially causing friction with Carla. The writers might introduce a new character with a connection to the pub or an interest in the area, creating a fresh dynamic.”

It’s even possible that Carla might make her nephew Ryan the temporary manager of the Rovers, after his tense words with Daisy. He’s admitted he’s in love with her, but branded her selfish in a dramatic turn of events that left Daisy railing at Jenny for losing her boyfriend.

Over on X, the Coronation Street community was ablaze with speculation, with some wondering what Daisy will do now that she’s been fired. One suggested: “Now that Daisy is sacked from the Rover’s, will she end up working at the florist? Although how can Carla fire Daisy anyway? It may be her money they used, but to everyone else on the street, it was Jenny and Daisy who bought the pub. It’s their sign on the door.”

Another came up with a huge twist that would hurt Carla even more, writing: “Highly unlikely to happen but how funny would it be if Daisy was to buy the factory off Gary?!” As someone else said: “I think Daisy has probably been barred. Shouldn’t Carla boot her out of the room upstairs, too?”
