Coronation Street fans sickened as they ‘work out’ Bernie’s real plan for Dev’s cash
Coronation Street viewers believe they’ve cracked Bernie Winter’s true intentions for the generous cash gift from her fiancé Dev Alahan.
Earlier this year, Bernie (played by Jane Hazlegrove) and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) took their relationship to the next level by tying the knot.
The pair first struck up a romance a few years ago and espite both of their quirks, Dev has welcomed Bernie into his home and life with his children, putting her criminal past behind her.

He has also supported her through difficult times, including the death of her son Paul (Peter Ash) who died last year after a battle with MND (Motor Neurone Disease).

However, in February, Dev had to leave Weatherfield after getting engaged to Bernie due to a family crisis in India, leaving his son Aadi (Adam Hussain) to manage his corner shop.
Dev recently returned to the cobbles, much to Bernie’s delight. Unbeknownst to him, Bernie and Aadi are harbouring a massive secret.
Last week, Aadi staged a fake robbery at the shop, hoping to claim insurance money to resolve financial issues he’s been facing since taking over the business, reports Leicestershire Live.
Bernie was delighted to hear Dev was getting £25k
Bernie discovered the truth and agreed to keep it under wraps until they knew whether the insurance company would pay out.
However, in Friday’s episode (July 25), Aadi was informed that he wouldn’t receive any money from the insurance company due to a missed payment.
Later, Dev disclosed to Bernie that his Aunt Rani is gifting them £25k as a wedding present.
Realising that some of this money could be used to settle Aadi’s debt, Bernie suggested to Dev that they should hasten their wedding plans – a proposal he accepted.

However, fans are now speculating that Bernie doesn’t intend to use the money to assist Aadi, but rather plans to abscond with the funds.
Speculation is rife among Corrie fans, with one musing on a Facebook fan page: “Who else thinks Bernie is going to do a runner with the cash from Dev’s aunty?”.
Another agreed, chiming in with: “Yes same here.”
A third shared their potential frustration: “I would be so mad if she did.”
While another hopeful viewer expressed: “You never know these days, but I hope not, she and Dev are good together!”
