Coronation Street ‘confirms’ Roy Cropper’s saviour as much-loved favourite returns in new spoilers

Scenes from Coronation Street spoilers, Monday, April 15.

Coronation Street serves up some proper compelling drama next week, with two legends in the frame for a murder they didn’t commit while a welcomed return leads to further questions.

Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) big day in court arrives as he desperately hopes to be granted bail but it’s unfortunately not good news, with the cafe icon left refusing his food as he’s jailed.

Not all hope is lost, however, as he finds himself with a potential saviour in Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll). Yes, the very same Bobby that helped put him behind bars!

Bobby’s efforts might just prove successful in one respect, but the newcomer could also be sealing another resident’s fate, with a second Weatherfield favourite in the frame for murder.

Away from Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance, the cobbles welcomes back Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson) and Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) has a big decision to make – as does Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), who receives a new job offer.

For all the latest straight from the cobbles I am your guy this week, with spoilers aplenty for next week’s goings on in Weatherfield, so shall we get stuck in?

Roy is refused bail (Picture: ITV)

Worried that he’s going to prison, Roy asks Dee-Dee for a piece of paper as he writes a letter to Nina. The day of his bail hearing proves traumatic, with the CPS barrister painting him as a dodgy character with a violent past and, in a true miscarriage of justice, bail is denied, with the much-loved cafe owner to be held in custody until his trial!

The injustice of it all.

Bobby, reeling from the news, is left feeling guilty over his role in Roy’s imprisonment and thus he tries to come up with a solution.

But just what is he planning?

Elsewhere, Adam hits it off with new client Rebecca and one thing leads to another. He ignores calls from Alya, who is forced to take a meeting for him with Rich from Fabian’s, who is left impressed with her.

Stu shows Eliza his tattoo in tribute to her but there are soon giggles while Sarah is mortified to find out Maria witnessed her drunken pass at Gary – and that the footage is recorded!

As Roy refuses his breakfast at prison, Bobby is summoned to the station for further questioning in light of his changing statement. DS Swain quizzes him on the fact that he’s now claiming to have seen an intruder in Lauren’s flat prior to her disappearance – an intruder wearing a balaclava and a dark coat with a fur-trimmed hood!

Very specific.

Cassie Plummer gets wind of his new version of events and reveals that someone actually handed in a coat to the charity shop that matches such a description and, upon further investigation, she finds the name tag.

Daniel is subsequently taken to the station following a big development in the Lauren case. Has Bobby unintentionally put Daniel in the frame in his efforts to save Roy?

Alya, meanwhile, eagerly accepts the job from Rich, leaving Adam and Dee-Dee struggling to organise the office without her. Rich tells Alya that she’s exactly what Fabian’s needs. Adam, however, isn’t pleased when he receives an email from his biggest client informing him that they’re transferring their work to Fabian’s!

Sean and Dylan move out of No. 11 and Joel receives word from Emily, who wants to know if he’d like to meet daughter Maeve.

Bethany reads an article that suggests Lauren was working as an escort at the time of her disappearance, which gives Daniel an idea as he arranges to meet with ex Nicky. Max, however, follows him and takes pictures of his meeting with Nicky and her friend Deana, telling Bobby that something isn’t right.

Is Max about to seal Daniel’s fate?

Elsewhere, Joel notices that Dee-Dee has been receiving death threats due to working on Roy’s case while Leanne is delighted that business is improving, believing the reality coding she learned from Rowan to be the reason why.

Sam, meanwhile, makes a new friend, which Leanne also credits to Rowan’s teachings, leaving Sam with food for thought.

When Michael reveals that – according to Adam – she has accepted her job back, Alya is furious. Spotting Adam across the street, she makes a beeline to confront him, demanding answers.

Alya spells out to Adam that he can stick his job and she storms off. But as Adam watches her go, it’s clear he’s smitten.
