Coronation Street fans have been left gobsmacked by Adam Barlow’s new look.
The character (Sam Robertson) has been a staple on the soap since 2004. And over the years, he’s played a part in several big storylines.
From his many romances on the cobbles to struggling with his mental health, Adam’s time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama.
What’s more, in June, it was reported that actor Sam had signed a new contract that will keep him on the Cobbles until November 2026.
Adam is a firm favourite on the soap
However, it’s fair to say Adam has been causing a stir for a while now thanks to his ever-changing barnet. And recently, fans were left rather distracted after Adam showed off his brand new look on the soap.
During Friday’s episode (August 15) Adam was seen chatting with co-worker Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) – who recently had a baby and is keen to take a step back from work.

However, it was Adam’s new hairstyle that got plenty of people talking – with the solicitor rocking a much more curly style. On X, one person declared: “Ohhhh Adam’s hair is growing again – he looks like a young Tom Jones…”
Someone else added: “What is going on with Adam’s hair?! He has a new (bad) hairstyle every time he’s on screen.”
Meanwhile, on a Reddit thread, one person said: “Omg the hair.” Another wrote: “His hair is a character on its own!”
He often switches up his look
Meanwhile last year, former Corrie writer Daran Little has shared some details about Adam’s hairstyles. Taking to X, Daran shared a picture of himself and Sam and said: “All the talk about Adam Barlow’s hair… Adam was the first character I created on Coronation Street. I named him Adam because ‘Ken wouldn’t know him from Adam’.”
He also revealed in an earlier tweet: “When we cast Adam he had massive hair and the producer got me to take Sam to makeup and decide how Adam’s hair should be. I’ve no idea why it was my decision!!!!”
