Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper accused of being a serial killer as his first victim is revealed
THE cafe owner's dark secrets are being exposed
CORONATION Street’s Roy Cropper has been accused of being a serial killer and his first victim has been named.
The cafe owner – who is played by actor David Neilson in the ITV soap – is under suspicion of killing missing Lauren Bolton.
Viewers know Roy has been viciously trolled and abused since news of his arrest went public.
But tonight he got even worst news when Evelyn Plummer showed him an interview with his late wife Hayley’s son Christian.
Having read the interview, Roy was horrified.
“This is beyond the pale,” he said. “A frontal assault on the memory of my wife, a travesty of our marriage.”
Shona, Evelyn and Nina told him not to read it and assured him that nobody would believe a word.
And Evelyn told him she hadn’t even bothered reading it fully, not wanting to “soil her mind with the thoughts of halfwits”.
However, that meant that she missed the truly vile claims made about Roy in it.
“Then you didn’t read the final paragraph, or the comments beneath it,” said Roy.
“Christian has insinuated that I might have killed Hayley. Or as he’s put it – he doesn’t think that Lauren is my first victim.”
Later Roy became emotional as he opened up to Nina about what was happening.
“Tears don’t come easily and I will not waste them on bigots,” he told her.
“What Hayley and I had was sacred and inviable. Far beyond their reach or understanding.
“He had a hatred in his heart that not even the finest person that I’ve ever known could dislodge.
“As for his claims about her death, there is a kernel of truth. But as for his central allegation, that is not true.
“I did not actively help Hayley end her life and I want you to know that. I did love Hayley. I still love Hayley a great deal.”
Later Roy’s troubles got even worse when he invited Lauren’s mum to stay, not realising she was actually an armchair detective hoping to catch him out.
