Coronation Street fans have ‘worked out’ Sean Tully’s new romance on the cobbles.
Sean (Anthony Cotton) made his debut on the ITV soap way back in 2003 – and it didn’t take him long to become one of the show’s iconic and beloved characters.
The Rovers Return barman has also played a part in several big storylines over the years – from finding himself homeless to becoming a dad to Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).
And this year, Sean was left devastated when Dylan was sent to the STC – before getting released a few months later. As fans will recall, Dylan was sent there following his involvement in the death of Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).

Sean’s wild love life on the ITV soap has often been the talk amongst viewers too, thanks to his string of failed romances. During his stint, Sean has dated the likes of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou).
His last romance was in 2022, when he went on a date with a dentist called Lawrence White – but it didn’t progress further as Sean found out that he was married

However, fans reckon Sean is about to find love again – and it’s with a familiar face. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, people suggested newcomer Rafael – who works at Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) hotel.
They wrote: “That Rafael is becoming one of my favourites!” Another added: “I agree, he needs more scenes.” A third chimed in: “He could be a possible romance for Sean? I’d love for him to finally find someone.” Another penned: “Same here, it’s been ages.”

In real life, Sean actor Anthony Cotton is loved up with long-term partner Peter Eccelston who he first met on the set of Coronation Street where his other half works as a props buyer.
It isn’t clear how long the couple has been together and they aren’t married. But back in 2010, Cotton and Eccleston did exchange rings as a sign of their commitment to one another.
Peter isn’t an actor but did appear in the film Let Him Have It alongside his uncle in 1991, where he played an eight-year-old version of Eccleston’s character Derek.
