Adam Barlow falls for a feisty neighbour in Coronation Street – and it’s not Sarah Platt

Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is to look ahead to a new relationship after wife Sarah (Tina O’Brien) made her feelings clear about their future in Coronation Street.

The high-flyer has tried in vain for months to reconcile with his estranged partner, but she was dead set on coupling up with villainous Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) instead.

He even tried to get his love rival driven out of Weatherfield by making a deal with his killer brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), which ended in tears as the security of his family was put at risk.

After Damon was arrested for taking part in a botched robbery, Adam tried to reconnect with Sarah and hoped that they’d be able to at least be friends- but she was having none of it.

In upcoming scenes, he heads to the Chariot Square Hotel to meet up with a client, Rebecca, and ends up finding himself ordering a bottle of wine and enjoying a moment of flirtation.

When Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) interrupts their meeting to say he’s needed back at the office, he declines the call and she is forced to take the meeting instead.

Rich (Jamie Cho), the rival solicitor, is impressed by her knowledge and suggests she could work at his firm in the future which leaves her delighted.

Meanwhile, Adam and Rebecca return from their meeting and stumble into Barlow Legal locking lips, interrupting them both.

A delighted Alya tells grandma Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) that she’s accepted the job offer and is over the moon when Rich invites her out for lunch at the Bistro.

As Dee-Dee struggles to keep organised without her, Adam’s furious to learn that his biggest client has transferred their case to Rich’s company, Fabian’s.

When Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) reveals to Alya that her former boss has been spreading the word that she’s accepted her job back, she’s furious and spells out to him that their working relationship is over.

As she storms off, it’s clear that Adam’s smitten.

Could his feelings for Alya be more than meets the eye?
