Coronation Street legend ‘to return’ 25 years after debut to save Todd Grimshaw from Theo
Coronation Street fans are certain they know who is going to save Todd Grimshaw from Theo Silverton.
Over on the soap this year, Theo (James Cartwright) made his debut, and quickly struck up a romance with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
However, it later came out that Theo was married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and the pair had two kids, Millie (Kaitlyn Earley) and Miles (Lewis William Magee).
What’s more, in a sad turn of events, Theo confided in Todd that he had lived a life in the closet, and revealed he was forced to undergo conversion therapy when he was younger.
The truth about Theo and Todd eventually came out and the couple have since moved in together. However, it has not exactly been plain sailing for Theo and Todd, as they have had to overcome several obstacles.
And in recent episodes, their relationship took a dark turn after Theo began asserting control over Todd. And things are set to only get worse for Todd as the abuse turns physical.
Now, fans are convinced they know who is going to bring down Theo and save Todd – and it’s a former soap legend. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “Can’t stand Theo, everything about him screams narcissist.”
Predicting the return of Todd’s brother and soap legend Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), another follower wrote: “Get Jason back, he’d sort Theo out!” A third agreed: “100%.” Someone else penned: “Yeah he wouldn’t stand for it would he.”
Jason – who made his debut in 2000 – was last seen on the soap earlier this year, when he came back as part of mum Eileen’s (Sue Cleaver) exit storyline.
Meanwhile, talking about the new abuse storyline, Todd actor Gareth recently confessed that he is worried for the character. He said: “Because Todd’s constantly calibrating what is normal and what is acceptable in the relationship.
“So very slowly things that are already crossing the line, that are already massive red flags are becoming slowly acceptable.
“That’s only going to get worse now at the point where it’s become physical and Todd is still able to convince himself that this is somehow fixable rather than a situation that he needs to walk away from.”
