Coronation Street spoilers: Daniel Osbourne left simmering with rage as Bethany Platt makes a big confession
Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is to be left furious at Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) irresponsible actions in Coronation Street next week as her Chit-Chat Magazine article exposing the events of his break-up with Daisy Midgley (Charlotte Jordan) is published.
In a recent episode, viewers saw an intrigued Bethany quiz Daniel over the events that saw ex-girlfriend Daisy catfish Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) into thinking she was Crystal Hyde (Erin Austen), a girl he had fallen head over heels for prior to the devastating acid attack that scarred him for life.
The ordeal led to a steamy affair between Daisy and Ryan, despite him uncovering the truth about Crystal, devastating Daniel.
When Daniel refused to cough up information about the devastating breakup, Bethany knew she had to turn to underhand sources in order to write it up for gossip mag Chit-Chat and earn some money to keep her afloat after weeks of sponging off her mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien).
Offering to tutor vulnerable Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) over a coffee, Bethany was quick to drop her intrigue over the catfishing drama into conversation, with a blissfully unaware Lauren more than happy to tell her everything – not realising her every word was being secretly recorded.
Next week, Daniel answers a call from the editor of Chit-Chat regarding Bethany’s article and orders her to let him proofread it. He fumes at her careless behaviour and instructs her to meet up with Daisy and explain what she’s done.
Meeting up over the coffee, the girls chat and hope to bury the hatchet over their previous altercations, but before long the conversation descends into chaos and Bethany is left having to defend her actions.
When Chit-Chat refuses to pull the huge bombshell from their pages, Daniel rages at Bethany and hopes that her back up plan of keeping quiet about the article in the hope nobody will read it.
But this is Weatherfield – what will happen when the residents undoubtedly get their hands on the big scoop? And will Daniel forgive Bethany for her deceit?
