Corrie DS Swain star’s past role on soap revealed — and she starred alongside cobbles icon
Corrie’s DS Swain is continuing to crack the case of missing Lauren Bolton but actress Vicky Myers actually starred on the soap nearly 30 years ago alongside a cobbles legend
DS Swain is becoming a fan-favourite on Coronation Street – but it turns out actress Vicky Myers appeared on the soap many years ago.
The copper made her cobbles debut back in 2021. At the time, she was introduced as part Seb Franklin’s death storyline – where she helped lead the investigation.
However, fans will recall that Lauren (Cait Fritton) vanished from the famous cobbles this year. And it didn’t take long before people raised his suspicions about her disappearance.
Swain was the first one on the scene and swiftly started her investigation and has been determined to find her since. But in a shocking twist, Lauren is now presumed to have been murdered.
What’s more, soap icon Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has become DS Swain’s top suspect, and last week the cobbles alum was arrested for her murder.
But it turns out this isn’t the first time actress Vicky has appeared on the famous street. The blonde bombshell starred on the soap nearly 30 years ago.
In a new interview, Vicky revealed she worked on Corrie as a “supporting artist.” What’s more, she got the chance to work alongside a cobbles legend too. She told TV Times magazine: “I was the nurse when Des Barnes (played by Philip Middlemiss) died in 1998.
“I was able to watch Denise Welch (who played Des’ wife, Natalie), get into the zone, because obviously she had to cry. There’s no amount of money in the world that can buy you that kind of experience.”
It comes after the actress has teased that viewers will be introduced to her teenager daughter in upcoming scenes. She added to the TV times how DS Swain is a “single mum.”
