Big news in store for Glenda as a huge lie is exposed in Coronation Street
Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) is to be kept in the dark following a big revelation from her brother George (Tony Maudsley) in Coronation Street next week.
First arriving in the ITV soap two years ago, brassy and colourful Glenda has had a busy year so far on the cobbles, and just weeks on from a vicious attack, more drama is to arrive on her doorstep.
The daughter of legendary funeral director Archie (Roy Hudd), she spent several years as a cruise ship entertainer and upon arriving in Weatherfield has brought a bit of sunshine to the bar of the Rovers Return.
She’s also began utilising her talents as manager of her own performing arts school at the community centre.
When it comes to her brother’s affairs in the family business, she’s been seen to jump in at the last minute to help him out, but has showed little interest in taking on the funeral trade full time.
In next week’s episodes, George will reveal that he’s updating his will and intends on giving girlfriend Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) power of attorney, which offends Glenda.
At the undertakers, Eileen finds son Todd (Gareth Pierce) sweetening him up.
Does he have an ulterior motive?
As George begins to file away a new copy of his last will and testament, an intrigued Todd watches on and after getting his hands on the document, learns that he has been left the business.
Eileen remarks that her boyfriend would undoubtedly change his mind if he knew that their son has seen the kind gesture, and the two quickly slip the will away.
However, a huge twist is dealt when Todd comes across Archie’s will revealing that the business is to be shared between George and Glenda.
Unable to let her guilty conscience get the better of her, Eileen begins to pack her bags to head to Thailand to visit son Jason (Ryan Thomas) and confesses what Todd found.
Will George tell Glenda the truth?
