Coronation Street horror as body found in jaw-dropping twist after emotional confession

Toyah Battersby is left shaken in Coronation Street next week as she's forced to come clean about her stillborn baby she buried decades ago after being sexually abused as a teen

A body is found in Weatherfield next week.

Coronation Street fare aware that cops are frantically looked for Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) who has been missing for weeks, and Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is currently being blamed for the disappearance of his former employee.

In upcoming scenes Leanne Battersby (Jane Dason) facetimes Rowan Cunliffe ( Emrhys Cooper,) to tell him about Toyah Batersby’s (Georgia Taylor) negativity towards the Institute and Rowan urges her to immediately distance herself from her sister. ]

As Toyah searches the park for Roy’s missing pooch Freddie, she comes across three sleuths digging up a rose bed who reveal that they saw Freddie digging in the same place, so they reckon Roy may have buried Lauren’s body there.

After hearing this, Toyah see’s red, picks up a shovel and smashes their car window whilst one of the sleuths film her on his phone. Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) arrives and persuades Toyah to put down the shovel as she bursts into tears.

Having returned home, Toyah rails at an upset Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) for losing Freddie in the first place. The police call at Victoria Court looking for Toyah. She later calls in the flower shop and purchases a single yellow rose and when Joel Deering (Calum Lill) asks who it’s for, Toyah says it’s for Leanne.

Nick desperately tries to keep the peace between Leanne and Toyah. When Joel asks Leanne if she liked her rose Toyah bought her, Leanne’s bemused and quizzes Toyah on it who makes out she binned it.

Toyah remains adamant she was right to defend Roy’s reputation and to stop the sleuths from desecrating such a special place as Nick’s puzzled by her choice of words. When Nick returns home, he finds Toyah in tears as she reveals that at 19 she gave birth to a stillborn baby girl, she kept it a secret and she buried her in the exact same place in the park that she found the sleuths digging up.

She takes a deep breath and admits to Nick that the baby’s father was Phil Simmonds, the guy who raped her. Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) returns home and oblivious to the tension, tells Nick and Toyah that the police are digging up North Cross Park and Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) reckons they’ve found a body. Will Toyah find herself in even more trouble?

In the bistro, Leanne tells Nick that she feels betrayed and he should never have kept Toya’s secret from her. When Rowan arrives, Leanne immediately perks up. Rowan suggests to Leanne she should unburden herself of negativity and embark on some uploading.

As Leanne tries to object, Rowan urges her to put herself first. Toyah calls in the bistro to find Nick run off his feet as Leanne is with Rowan so Toyah offers to help him out. As Leanne talks Rowan through all the bad things that have happened in her life, he listens intently and assures her that he’s by her side every step of the way.
