The Young Funeral Director of the Year award winner has been working alongside his mum Eileen’s (Sue Cleaver) boyfriend George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) since 2021.
George had inherited the family trade from his dad Archie, who was a friend of the Coronation Street residents for years.
When he passed away, he left a whopping £80,000 to his close pal Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) and Ken Barlow (William Roache) was dismayed to find he’d only been given a brass monkey ornament.
Two years ago, George’s bubbly sister Glenda (Jodie Prenger) burst onto the cobbles and has installed herself as the Rovers Return’s newest barmaid, though has shown little interest in joining the funeral business.
In next week’s episodes, George will reveal that he’s updating his own will and intends on giving Eileen power of attorney, which deeply offends his sister.
At the undertakers, Eileen finds son Todd sweetening him up and wonders what her son’s game is, aware of the various underhand tactics he’s used in the past to get what he wants.
This can only end badly…
As George files the copy of his updated will away, an intrigued Todd watches on and after getting his hands on the document, learns that he has been left the business.
Eileen remarks that her boyfriend would undoubtedly change his mind if he knew that their son has seen the kind gesture, and the two quickly hide their evidence.
However, a huge twist is dealt when in the process they find Archie’s will, revealing that the business is to be shared between George and Glenda.
Unable to let her guilty conscience get the better of her, Eileen begins to pack her bags to head to Thailand to visit son Jason (Ryan Thomas) and confesses what Todd found.
Will George tell Glenda the truth or will he worry about his sister getting her hands on his business assets?
