What seemed like passive-aggressive remarks soon turned into sabotage. During a pivotal November 17 episode, Theo deliberately derailed Todd’s work day—causing him to lash out at his boss and friend, George. That outburst cost Todd his job and drove a wedge between two of the show’s longest-running characters.

As George left the flat, crushed and tearful, viewers were met with a haunting scene. Theo stood smirking in the shadows, coldly calling Todd “a self-centred, pathetic little man” while he broke down in tears.

Humiliation and Gaslighting

Just days later, Theo took things even further. With Todd unemployed, Theo used his financial power to justify inviting Pete—someone he had previously slept with—into their home. Pretending it was about winning a business contract, he turned a romantic dinner into a twisted game.

Todd played along, trying to be supportive. But when flirtation sparked between Pete and Todd, Theo turned cold. Instead of celebrating Todd’s “charm,” he weaponised it. It was another manipulative move designed to destabilise Todd’s self-worth and isolate him emotionally.

The Shocking Attack Ahead

According to official spoilers, things will only get worse. Theo’s toxic behaviour escalates dramatically—culminating in a shocking act of violence. The question is no longer if Todd is in danger, but how far Theo will go before it’s too late.

Actor James Cartwright, who plays Theo, says his character isn’t a monster—he’s a narcissist spiralling out of control. “He lashes out in rage, blames Todd for everything, and then hates himself afterward,” James explained. “It’s a horrible cycle of guilt, blame, and violence.”

Corrie’s depiction of domestic abuse in same-sex relationships is raw, difficult, and deeply needed. As Theo turns from lover to tormentor, the show confronts a powerful truth: love should never hurt like this.
