Coronation Street spoilers: Things get even worse for Roy as he faces arrest for yet another crime
Roy Cropper (David Neilson) faced a warning from DS Swain (Vicky Myers) in Monday’s (April 29) episode of Coronation Street – as if things couldn’t get any worse for him.
At the end of last week, we saw Roy calling the police station to speak with Swain.
Recent scenes saw Bobby (Jack Carroll) give a false statement to police regarding Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance, in a bid to get Roy off the hook.
He told DS Swain that he had seen a man in Lauren’s flat, who’d told him to keep quiet, though this wasn’t the truth.
Unfortunately, despite Bobby’s statement, Roy’s bail hearing didn’t go to plan, with the judge denying him bail and pointing out that the timing of the statement was suspicious.
After Roy discovered Bobby and Carla’s (Alison King) plan, he picked up the phone at the prison and called DS Swain, seemingly prepared to tell her what they had done.
In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Roy ended up in hospital after collapsing in his cell.
The shock twist happened as a result of Roy not eating and drinking properly. As he recovered in his bed, Carla was outside discovering from an officer that Roy had taken her off the visitor list.
Stuck in the waiting room, Carla played dumb when DS Swain entered and asked her if she knew anything about what Roy had on his mind.
Sat beside Roy, Swain set up her recording device and waited for him to reveal all.
However, when Roy’s eyes wandered, he spotted Carla in the hospital corridor.
Unable to land her in trouble, Roy covered for Carla and told Swain he was looking for an update regarding Lauren.
Frustrated, the detective told Roy that if he did this again, he would be charged with wasting police time.
As DS Swain left, Carla was finally allowed to visit Roy.
Sadly though, the chat ended with Carla close to tears.
Roy told her that he cannot move past the recent lies and as a result, their friendship is now over.
