Coronation Street spoilers: Carla hit with devastating news in murder storyline
+
Carla Connor (Alison King) was left in tears at the end of Monday’s (April 29) episode of Coronation Street as Roy Cropper (David Neilson) told her their friendship is over.
Recently in the ITV soap, Carla was dragged into a plan by her nephew Bobby (Jack Carroll), who wanted to do something to try and get Roy off the hook.
It involved Bobby telling DS Swain (Vicky Myers) that he had seen a man in Lauren’s (Cait Fitton) flat around the time of her disappearance – even though that wasn’t true.
During his hearing, Roy was denied bail, with the Judge also pointing out that the timing of Bobby’s statement appeared to be a little suspicious.
Once Roy discovered Bobby and Carla had lied, he was devastated. At the end of last week, it looked as though Roy was going to tell DS Swain everything, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it in tonight’s instalment.
After Roy collapsed in his cell, he was rushed to hospital.
Shortly after, Carla and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) arrived to see Roy, but Carla was given some news when the prison officer outside informed her that Roy had removed her name from the visitor list.
When DS Swain entered the ward room to see Roy, she set up her recording device, curious as to what he wanted to tell her.
Just as Roy prepared himself, he spotted Carla glancing through the window. Unable to tell Swain, Roy covered and said he wanted to know if she had any updates regarding Lauren’s case.
Annoyed, the detective told Roy that he should speak to his solicitor about this sort of thing and if it happened again, he would be charged for wasting police time.
Later, when Carla sat down beside Roy, she tried to support her friend, but was absolutely thrown by what Roy had to say next.
Roy told Carla that because of her and Bobby’s lies, their friendship is now over.
The beloved character told Carla to stop visiting him from now on, and sent her away by saying he needed some rest.
Poor Carla was heartbroken – but can Roy get through this ordeal without her?
