Coronation Street reveals Nathan’s vile connection to ‘dead’ Lauren as he claims another victim

Bethany and Daniel confront Nathan in Corrie

Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) came face to face with Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) in Friday’s (May 10) episode of Coronation Street.

This week, Bethany watched a reconstruction of Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) last known movements play out at the precinct. She was a little distracted, however, due to noticing a man who looked like Nathan – the man who abused her – stood within a crowd.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Bethany continued to convince herself that she saw Nathan, but Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) didn’t believe her. He said that the police should let victims know if their abuser was being released – and Bethany had not been contacted by anyone.

After watching the video of the reconstruction, Bethany spotted Nathan again and realised he was wearing a high-vis jacket from a building site.

Making her way over there, Bethany was faced with Nathan and in a split second moment, grabbed his phone and ran away.

Back at the flat, Bethany checked through Nathan’s phone and discovered he had been subscribed to Lauren’s O-Vidz account.

In the station, DS Swain (Vicky Myers) explained to Daniel and Bethany that she has no reason to be suspicious of Nathan due to his alibi. A frustrated and emotional Bethany was certain Swain was making a mistake, convinced Nathan was responsible for Lauren’s murder.

When Bethany returned home, a worried Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) suggested to her daughter that she talks to a counsellor about Nathan, worried she might make herself unwell through all of the stress.

In the evening, after telling Daniel that she was searching for her old therapist, we saw Bethany was actually doing far from that.

She had stolen Nathan’s account details for O-Vidz and logged on. Moments later, Bethany was horrified to see that Nathan had been communicating with another young woman.

Does this prove he was involved in Lauren’s disappearance as well?
