Sam Blakeman’s (Jude Riordan) mental health deterioration finally reaches a terrifying and devastating crescendo as his hallucination of Roy Cropper (David Neilson) collides with the real life version in the café. As dad, Nick Tilsley (Ben Price), step-mums Leanne and Toyah Battersby (Jane Danson and Georgia Taylor) and Roy’s niece, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) plead with him to let them in, it’s Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) who seems to discover the truth, but can anyone help Sam?

As Kit hones in on Gary, certain that he holds the answers to Theo’s murder, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) rushes to the hospital when he receives a call informing him that Summer has fallen ill. His heart breaks when she tells him she switched off her insulin pump to make herself ill and escape prison for a while.
David’s inability to find Harper’s five month milestone card ruins his and Shona’s planned photoshoot for her, though David is convinced that Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) is behind it all.
Meanwhile, after a visit from a social worker, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) is determined that he knows who called them, Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) convinces Will to take back control when he floats the idea of quitting athletics and Sam continues to suffer.

Revealing that he did see Summer the night of Theo’s murder and explaining how he accidentally dropped a car on Carl and that there’s footage, Fiz demands he hand over his phone to her.
Seeking forgiveness, David lavishes all of his attention on Shona, treating her to a romantic meal and a gift box containing Harper’s ultrasound photos, her hospital bracelet and a onesie for her to wear when she comes home.
Elsewhere, Sam imagines ‘Roy’ urging him to get rid of Will for good, and is wounded when his reluctance to comply results in ‘Roy’ abandoning him and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), Nina and Todd visit a broken Summer in hospital.
