Coronation Street fans work out which woman Joel Deering is working with – and it changes everything

Coronation Street fans have rumbled that Joel Deering is actually working with a female resident in a horrifying twist after he was exposed as Lauren Bolton's attacker

Coronation Street fans have worked out who Joel Deering is working with – and it’s not Kit or Nathan.

Joel Deering – played by Calum Lill – was exposed as the attacker of Lauren Bolton in a shock twist after months of speculation. Lauren had been missing since February, presumed dead, but it has now been confirmed Joel was the one who attacked her and possibly killed her, with the truth about that night finally having been revealed.

However, fans are now convinced that someone else is working with Joel. Nathan Curtis has been linked with Joel, given that the solicitor is representing him and he has been encouraging him to plead guilty, whilst some fans believe that Kit could be working with Joel as part of a gang grooming young girls like Nathan liked to do.

Some viewers are now sure that Nicky might be working with Joel. Nicky was introduced as a sex worker a few years back, but she has since moved away from that and is now working to support women who are experiencing the same thing as her.

It has been suggested that Nicky could be finding the women for Joel and any of his other people who may be involved. Could this be a shock twist that is coming on the ITV soap, and how would Daniel and Bethany react?

Meanwhile, Chris Harper – who plays Nathan – has seemingly let slip that Joel and Nathan might be working together. He said last week: “I think we are about to see some fun twists. Joel’s got a lot to lose. They’re both manipulative, dark people, and we’re gonna see them working together to get the best end result for both of them. It’s gonna get nasty.” Joel actor Calum teased what his character’s next steps may be now – as Weatherfield is still unaware of what he’s hiding.

“I think he’s trying to work out how many loose ends there could be and how to deal with them. Obviously as a defence solicitor he knows how to play the game and knows that there is reasonable doubt and that he needs to cancel out anything that could be tied down to him. But you know, this is new territory for him,” he said.

“He might have been in a situation before where he’s broken the law and not treated people very nicely. But this is new and I think he feels real concern. He has to make it stick on Nathan so no one ever suspects it could be Joel.”
