Coronation Street fans can expect concerning scenes

Hospital dash

Coronation Street is set for worrying scenes next week when a cobbles legend is in a hospital dash. In upcoming episodes, Bobby Crawford uses Stu Carpenter’s birthday drinks to apologise to Ken Barlow for getting son, Daniel Osbourne, into trouble. However, it’s not long until Bobby notices that Ken is unsteady on his feet and the latter heads home as he admits to not feeling too well.

Later, a concerned Bobby knocks on Ken’s door to check on him but when there’s no reply, he peers through the letterbox and is shocked to see Ken lying at the bottom of the stairs. It’s not long until Bobby calls an ambulance and Ken is rushed to hospital. Later in the week, Daniel and Steve McDonald visit Ken who is dismayed to discover he will need round the clock care whilst he recovers.

Coronation Street spoilers for next week have teased a dark twist for Leanne Battersby. Soap watchers will recall that mysterious newcomer Rowan Cunliffe has targeted Leanne Battersby with his “self-improvement group” The Institute. Rowan has also been pulling Leanne away from partner Nick Tilsley and even her sister Toyah Battersby during her time of need.

In spoilers next week, Toyah realises it must be Rowan who reported her to the police about her baby when she gets a delivery of yellow roses, with Leanne later confessing that she did tell Rowan about what happened to baby Rose. Nick heads back home and tells Leanne she needs to either leave Rowan and the institute – or she needs to leave him. What will she do?

It’s not long until Rowan calls at the Bistro on his motorbike and handing a spare helmet to Leanne, tells her he’s got a surprise for her. Leanne soon follows him out, leaving Nick and Toyah to cope with the lunchtime rush on their own. Leanne’s decision leaves Nick fuming while Toyah is in utter disbelief.

Over at a hotel restaurant, Rowan introduces Leanne to Willow the CEO of the Institute over video call, explaining to a flattered Leanne that she will soon be able to recruit new members herself. However, a dark twist soon airs as Toyah, who has set off for her Institute court case, receives a call which shocks her. It’s not long until Toyah hurries into A&E and tells the nurse on the desk that she had a call to inform her that her sister, Leanne, has been involved in a motorbike accident. Is Leanne okay?

Coronation Street will see one character return to the cobbles next week following their exit earlier this year. Soap fans will recall that earlier this year, Summer Spellman departed the cobbles after being encouraged by Paul Foreman to see the world and she signed up for a special new course in Boston. She had initially said she didn’t want to go because of Paul’s motor neurone disease diagnosis but he told her she shouldn’t put her life on hold and she headed off in a taxi back in March.

Next week, Summer returns from America with a new look and a new man as she drops a bombshell on her family. When the character left, Summer had a side parting but upon returning has undergone a hair transformation as she debuts a stylish fringe. However, Summer’s makeover isn’t the only surprise for her family as she reveals she’s got a new boyfriend Felix and he’s waiting to meet them in the Rovers.
