Kevin Webster is crushed as Abi leaves Coronation Street behind after traumatic event
To say Abi Webster (Sally Carman) has been through a lot in recent weeks in Coronation Street is a little bit of an understatement.
During a mundane afternoon at home, Abi was listening to the radio and heard a presenter talking about a documentary on a prison football team that featured Corey Brent, the young man who killed her son Seb.
After Abi campaigned to stop the production company from airing the doc, she then discovered someone had been creating deepfake pornographic videos of her and sharing them online.
Abi and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) turned to Max Turner (Paddy Bever) for help, thinking they could find the person responsible, but it was basically the equivalent of looking for a needle in a haystack.
Eventually, after Bethany (Lucy Fallon) revealed more about her new job at a magazine outlet, Abi did some digging and discovered Corey’s father Stefan was involved not only in the magazine business but the production company too.
Convinced Stefan was responsible for the deepfakes, Abi reported him to DS Swain (Vicky Myers).
In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, Kevin tells Tyrone (Alan Halsall) that Stefan has agreed to remove the videos.
However, he then approaches the mechanic and says the deal is off because he’s not willing to pay £60k per year to remove them.
Towards the end of the week, feeling stressed and overwhelmed, Abi explains to Kevin that she needs to get away for a few days and she’s going to stay with her twins and their adoptive mother Lynsey.
As Abi leaves Weatherfield, Kevin does his best to remain positive.
But what state will their relationship be in when Abi returns?
