ITV Coronation Street first look as Toyah Battersby collapses amid baby twist

Toyah Battersby doubles over in pain and is rushed to hospital in a first look at Coronation Street.

The much-loved resident will find herself rushed for treatment when she collapses in the flat next week. It has been teased that she will get two shocking sets of news – but what are they, and how will they impact her and those around her?

Toyah recently had an affair with her sister Leanne’s husband Nick, as the pair bonded over how they were losing Leanne to the Institute. She has been subjected to cruel taunts and court cases by the Institute, and now her and Nick are being blackmailed over their inadvertent kiss – but will the truth come out about their affair?

In a first look clip, Toyah collapses whilst in the flat and doubles over in pain. Nick is there and she calls out for him – with spoilers confirming she is rushed to hospital. When she gets there, she gets some shock news – but what is it?

Actress Georgia Taylor – who plays Toyah – has opened up more about Nick and Toyah’s affair. She teased earlier this month: “It’s really confusing for Toyah, Nick is to all intents and purposes her brother in law and they haven’t always got on, so it’s not like she’s been harbouring some secret attraction. So this has hit her out of the blue, they’ve both been there for each other these last few weeks when life has been really tough and those feelings are starting to get a little bit blurred.

“Toyah loves her sister but every time she feels guilty for leaning on Nick, Leanne does something to push her away again. It’s difficult when you’re angry at someone, but you also feel guilty for something you’ve done to them. It’s very conflicting for Toyah.”

Georgia also explained she never thought the show would mean so much to her – as it is where she met her partner. Speaking about her romance with Charlie – who played Imran on the show – and if she ever thought she’d meet her partner and become great friends with her colleagues, she said: “No not at all, when I joined the show I was on a five month contract and I didn’t see anything beyond that. So the fact that it’s really shaped so much of my life and my personal life is quite extraordinary.

“It really is a gift and it makes that place even more special to me. Going away and coming back, meeting Charlie, being reunited with Jane at work and now being back up north near my family, I just feel incredibly lucky and thankful.”
