Coronation Street icons reunite after five years and our hearts are full
Coronation Street star Lisa George reunited with a former soap legend four years after their exit.
The Beth Tinker star, 51, shared a wholesome snap with her onscreen niece Katie McGlynn, who played Sinead Tinker on the ITV soap.
In the picture shared to Instagram Lisa is seen beaming from ear to ear alongside Katie during a sunny day out.
Katie penned in the post: ‘Our Sinead and Auntie Beth… it’s like we’ve never been apart.’
Katie played Sinead on Coronation Street between 2013 and 2020.
Following her departure, she joined Hollyoaks as scheming Becky Quentin, playing the character for a year.
The soap star also competed in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Gorka Marquez.
As for Lisa, it was reportedly announced that she is set to leave her role as Beth after almost 13 years on the show.
Beth burst onto the cobbles back in 2011 and has been part of some huge storylines ever since, with her relationship with Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) really touching fans hearts.
Their future now looks uncertain once again, as The Sun reports that Lisa George is set to leave her role as Beth.
‘Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she’s had some great storylines,’ a source told the publication.
‘She’s become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead’s death.
‘She loves Corrie and it’s in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.’
However, the soap star appears to have dispelled claims of leaving the soap at the beginning of the year.
