Coronation Street icon flirts with son’s boss to get him a promotion – but it backfires
Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) has tried to bag her beloved son Craigy (Colson Smith) a promotion in Coronation Street – but has been issued a stark warning from a concerned neighbour.
In tonight’s (3rd June) episode, Beth was strolling down Victoria Street when she bumped into Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) and began to dish out compliments in the hope he would partner up with Craig to work on some cases together.
At this point, she was unaware that Kit had just dropped a huge bombshell on Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) – he’s their long-lost brother!
Having been given up for adoption by birth mum Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) as a baby, Kit has resented her for years, and decided to twist the knife after deciding to come clean to the wider family.
Knowing that she would be unable to get her side of the story across, he went ahead of her and told his siblings the truth and they’ve been unable to face her since.
In the café, Bernie confessed that she was unsure whether she’d be able to regain their trust. Overheard by Beth, she couldn’t believe the news…
Later in the day, the new-found brothers and sister met up in the pub to make up for lost years, and it wasn’t long before Bernie gatecrashed.
Deeply hurt by them turning their back on her, Bernie rushed home and boyfriend Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) left after her.
Out on the street, Beth met up with Kirk (Andy Whyment) and Craig to tell them the news about Kit’s identity, when Dev raced over and issued a stark warning – he’s not to be trusted.
This could end badly!
