Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) found herself facing an intense police grilling in Friday’s Coronation Street, as Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) sought his revenge on her from prison.

Several weeks ago, sick paedophile Nathan returned to the cobbles, much to the horror of victim Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

Bethany grew certain that Nathan was behind the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), with mum Sarah worrying her obsession with the case was going to consume her.

Sarah’s ex Gary Windass (Mikey North) later attacked Nathan, leaving him hospitalised. In a bid to keep him quiet, Sarah paid Nathan £10,000 to change his statement and leave Weatherfield for good.

However, when he pocketed the money and refused to go anywhere, Sarah took drastic action by planting one of Lauren’s hairs in his van, quickly resulting in his arrest.

On Friday, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) warned Sarah that DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) had been doing some digging and she’s caught onto the fact that Nathan received some hush money to drop the case.

Sarah soon found herself brought into the station under caution, after the police’s investigation into Nathan’s bank accounts revealed he’d deposited a large sum of Cash.

Despite Sarah previously being confident Nathan would not grass, he’d told police she was behind the cash, and Sarah was faced with no choice but to confess she’d paid him to leave.

However, she denied it was a bribe to change his statement about his attack, and sought to keep Gary’s name out of it.

But Swain then suggested the money Sarah had used to pay him was stolen by ex Damon Hay (Ciarán Joseph Griffiths) in Harvey Gaskell’s (Will Mellor) heist – and if she didn’t want to be charged with handling criminal property, she’d have to prove where the cash came from.

Panicked, Sarah sent a message to Gary – who is the one who’d given her the £10k – to meet.

After he slipped away from Liam Connor’s (Charlie Wrenshall) birthday celebrations at the Bistro, he agreed to go to the police the next day.

But their exchange was witnessed by Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), who was suspicious to see the former couple together – will she rumble their secret?
