A very determined Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) continues to try and destroy cult leader Rowan (Emryhs Cooper) in Coronation Street next week and during her quest, she makes a massive discovery.

Life has been nothing but dramatic for Toyah over the past few months. After opening up to Nick (Ben Price) about the death of her stillborn baby girl Rose, the two found themselves connecting romantically and slept together.

While all of this has been going on, Leanne has remained completely oblivious because she’s been spending so much time with Rowan. Convinced The Institute is full of people passionate about self-help and positivity, Leanne is often seen telling Rowan her deepest and darkest secrets, unaware he’s using all of the information to his advantage.

Coming up, while Leanne puts pressure on Amy (Elle Mulvaney) to join the cult, Nick takes Toyah for her latest hospital appointment.

Later in the week, Toyah searches the internet in vain, hoping to get more dirt on Rowan.

Meanwhile, Rowan puts pressure on Nick to invest in the new resource centre, threatening to blow the secret of his affair with Toyah if he doesn’t.

While this is happening, Toyah rifles through Rowan’s jacket pockets and finds his driving licence. She reverses the image of him online, and then makes a discovery.

But is it enough to destroy him?

‘There’s already been a lot of heated arguments between them and he’s used to people being suspicious of The Institute’, actor Emrhys Cooper explained.

‘We are going to learn more about his chequered past. I think he’s such a master-manipulator that he can spin it and still work it in his favour, turning his past into what helped him grow into who he is now.’

Consider us intrigued…

Adding that there is still ‘a bit more of a journey’ ahead for Leanne, he also told us that Rowan truly believes in what the cult stands for – something which us viewers know little about.

‘I think it’s an interesting duality. He does really believe in it, but at the same time he is taking advantage and he’s aware of that – he’s justifying his actions.’
