Carla Connor (Alison King) lands in terrible trouble next week in Coronation Street as she ends up hitting someone with her car.

In recent weeks, focus for Carla has been on her developing and very intriguing friendship with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). We met Swain a few years ago as a guest character. It was then confirmed she would become a permanent character for the ITV soap, allowing us the opportunity to learn more about her.

When Carla overheard Lisa crying in her car, she got in the passenger seat and tried to console her. The detective then revealed her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) was struggling with her grief after losing her other mum – Lisa’s partner.

To try and help, Carla decided to give Betsy some work experience at the factory but as we discover in upcoming episodes, teaching the young girl everything about life at Underworld isn’t exactly stress free.

At the precinct, Carla comes across the same group of yobs from earlier this week who were hassling Roy (David Neilson). She strides over, ready to give them a piece of her mind but afterwards, just as she climbs back into her car, she fails to spot a lad cycling towards her.

As Carla opens the door, the yob is knocked off his bike.

In the week, Betsy continues to take advantage of Carla by doing little work and demanding an early lunch.

When she swans out of the factory, Carla heads to the police station hoping to have a word with Lisa, but has to end the conversation abruptly when Lisa says Betsy has called and is stuck in a rough part of town.

With Betsy making an impact on Carla, what will she do about hitting the young lad?

Will she face the consequences once DS Swain eventually finds out what happened?
